What is Gwynedd Economic Partnership?

The Gwynedd Economic Partnership has been created to ensure that an inclusive approach is taken to the development of Objective One projects in Gwynedd and for the economic development of the county in general.  Anyone can join the Partnership and a Steering Group is elected each year, the partnership is also composed of sub-groups.

The main role of the Partnership as defined in the constitution is:

To work together as a Partnership of the public, social and voluntary sectors to provide a co-ordinated approach for economic growth in a sustainable manner in Gwynedd through the development and implementation of the Gwynedd Economic Strategy, following the guiding principles of sustainability, partnership, quality and creativity.

All 15 counties in West Wales and the Valleys that have been designated with Objective One status have formed similar partnerships.  Information on other local partnerships can be found here .

What is the Single Programming Document (SPD?)

This document is the agreement between the European Commission and the United Kingdom Government regarding how money provided by the European Commission will utilised to resolve the economic and social problems in West Wales and the Valleys.

It can be compared to a corporate strategy for the whole of the Objective 1 area in Wales, and is a very large document with over 375 pages.

What is the Programme Complement?

The Programme Monitoring Committee (PMC) have agreed on this document. This is the committee responsible for monitoring the Objective 1 programme in West Wales and the Valleys.

The document outlines all the information regarding eligible activities and the outputs and targets. It is similar to a business plan and has over 192 pages.
